Seagulls cry
As skaters glide by
Bikers ride by
Prams are pushed
As skateboards slide by
The sun shines
As the line for ice-cream winds by
The tide draws in as the zip line flies by.
From pavilion to pier
We’re artists here
Queer here
Fearless here
Open air Shakespeare
Visit a pub a day for a year here.
We are future looking
Beer brewing
Music hall at sunset grooving
Brighton blue
And great tattooing.
From the Albion stands
To the band stand
We stand with pride
Banners high
For trans rights
For black lives
Not afraid to speak our minds
So that the planet thrives.
We’re the queens of St James Street
Voting for the green seat
Eat no meat
Eco-freaks
Swim in the freezing sea
On the nudist beach
Each unique.
We are explorers
Performers
Great outdoors-ers
Never normal
Brighton.
