o South Africa’s take on the hit show Four Weddings contained all the matrimonial drama, dirty tricks and demanding divas that have made the format one of Britain’s most watched. Every week four brides attended each other’s weddings, where they got to experience a different way of celebrating…before getting the opportunity to judge it mercilessly. With South Africa’s melting pot of cultures we got to see it all, from celebrity-studded affairs, traditional Swati and Islamic services, nudist vows, sokkie draai dancing, biker entourages and princess brides to Steam Punk dresses, floating ceremonies, Indian-Christian crossovers and beach parties. It all made for some very entertaining television, and some even happier couples, as each week the winning bride and groom got whisked off to a dream honeymoon destination.
