Gross Girls is a project that highlights a flaw that is spotted in today’s society; it raises a question about the double standard that has been existing – “why can’t girls be gross?”. Gross Girls plays around with the idea of sex, period and body image. We aim to push the grossness beyond the line, to completely expose the “ugly truth” about women that has been denied and suppressed by the society. Last but not least, our goal also is to challenge the definition of grossness: What is gross and what isn’t? Perhaps what we have been considered as “gross” and “unacceptable” for women, in fact, are just normal behaviors of human beings.
